Small sword with ornate sterling silver and gold gilted hilt with reinforced triangular blade circa early to mid 18th century. The sword measures 39-1/4” with 32-1/2 blade, approx. 1” at widest portion of hilt, tapering to a point approx 7” from the hilt. The blade is lightly engraved with no maker’s signature, blade is in good condition with slight staining, normal aging. The hilt, guard, and pommel are pierced and show designs of stands of arms surrounded by floral and geometric formations. The grip is wrapped sterling silver with silver and brass wire. No visible hallmarks, traces of light gilt on the hilt, which is very sharp and crisp. Engraving well defined and considerable gilt on front of guard, sharp edges, not rubbed. The guard is slightly looses on the hilt. A very fine sword of the type carried shortly before and during the American revolution. Absolutely beautifully balanced. Est: $1,000 - $2,000

Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries. Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
