Small Sheffield Bowie knife by James Rodgers. Approx. 11-1/8” overall, 6-3/4 clip blade with false edge. Blade shows light sharpening and scratches with patches of discoloration, full edge and tip. The bulbous-shaped hilt shows a two-piece three-dimensional pressed horn. With a shell and leaf motif. German silver crossguard and ferrule. Original leather veneer over cardboard sheath with gold-embossing. The tip, throat, and button German silver mounts are complete. Circa approx. 1840’s. Hugh Hayes Collection. Est: $750 - $1,500
