Small Native American Acoma Black & White Pottery Jar by Emma Lewis (1931-2013), measures 1'' x 1.5'' and is signed on the bottom, lizard motif, FYI: ''Emma Lewis was born into Acoma Pueblo on October 4, 1931, the daughter of Toribio Haskaya Luis and famous Acoma matriarch, Lucy M. Lewis. Emma was an active potter for more than 40 years, starting around 1952. She worked a lot with Mimbres and Anasazi Revival black-on-white and polychrome ollas, jars, bowls, seedpots, plates and owl figures. She earned many ribbons and accolades over the four decades she participated in the Santa Fe Indian Market. Emma's work is included in nearly every major institution and private collection including the Heard Museum, Harvard's Wright Collection at the Peabody Museum, Maxwell Museum, Brooklyn Museum of Arts and many more.''
