Edward S. Curtis is most well known for his ethnography photography of North American Indians during the turn of the 20th Century. This photogravure was produced by John Andrew and Son and is a copy of the Edward S. Curtis photograph. The image is of Slow Bull an Oglala Sioux. Slow Bull became a subchief for the
Oglala Siouxin 1878. He and his wife were the subject of a few Curtis photo sessions in 1907. The printed description on the mat reads "From the Copyright Photograph 1907 E.S. Curtis." The print measures 15.5" x 11.5" while the mat measures 18.5" x 14." The frame was manufactured by Borg Night Master Framing of South Lake Tahoe. The frame measures 29" x 25" and features modern a design with earthy colors. There is very little wear and the photogravure has been kept in very good condition.
