<B>Slave Life Insurance Policy From Virginia.</B></I> Partially printed document, one page with docketing panel on verso, 8" x 12.5", Richmond, March 4, 1853. Issued by the Richmond Fire Association, this fascinating policy was sold to one Thomas H. Seay and insures "<I>Brutus, a slave on the Virginia and Tennessee Rail Road</B></I>" for four hundred dollars. The premium for this coverage was $15.28 per annum. Printed on light gray stock.
