Skonvirke describes the Danish subcategory of Art Nouveau, which derived from the Arts and Craft movement; these two sculptural and naturalistically shaped pieces of jewellery are true testimonies to their name ‘beautiful woks’ (= ‘Skonvirke’)

This set of Skonvirke jewellery comprises of a necklace with pendant and a delicate brooch. The silver necklace is adorned with a beautiful Art Nouveau Skonvirke pendant and was crafted by Holger Fischer. The brooch with its elegant design is by Christian Jacobsen and decorated with a central cabochon made of red glass.



The jewellery set is in good condition with some traces of wear and age. The pendant used to be a brooch and the pin of the Jacobsen brooch seems to have been replaced at some stage. The length of the chain is 69 cm; the dimensions of the pendant are 7 x 5.5 cm and the length of the brooch is 6.5 cm. The overall weight is 26.83 grams. The pieces of jewellery bare the hallmarks “ChJ” and “HF” for the makers and “830S” to define the purity.
