1) Bank of California check of San Francisco issued to Cutting & Company. Signed by Charles Brenham as secretary. Brenham was a riverboat captain in the 1840's. Was a true '49er. He operated ferries and riverboats in the Sacramento and San Francisco area. Elected mayor of San Francisco in 1851. Opened the San Francisco Savings Bank but the bank panic of 1855 wiped him out. Went back to transporting goods as co-owner of the North Pacific Transportation Company. Notable gold rush '49er, mayor, banker, and transportation figure. 2) 1866 State of California Attorney-General's Office letter. Signed by John G. McCullough. He was the attorney general from 1863 to 1867. 3) 1859 Tuolumne County Water Company receipt to the Finance Committee. Signed by White and Pownall. 4) 1880 dues for the Sacramento Society of California Pioneers to H. M. LaRue. Signed by James McCleery. LaRue came to California in 1849, was a rancher near Davis, and was elected sheriff in 1873. 5) 1869 Marysville letter with a document stamp. Pay Decker & Jewett on site $1,000. 1867 stamp of Pacific Bank of San Francisco. 6) 1881 Adams, McNeill, & Co. receipt. Sacramento. Historical reference included.
