Six different views published by a female photographer! All are stamped on the reverse: "Anna M. Tweed/ Photographer/ Fine Mineral Specimens For Sale/ Glen Cove Park or Pike's Peak Carriage House/ P.O. Address, Colorado Springs, Colo." According to Blevins (2012), Tweed was born in Kansas in 1869 and moved to Colorado Springs with her family in 1878. Her father was involved in mining, while her brother homesteaded on the carriage road to Pikes Peak. She first appears as a photographer in the 1896 Colorado Springs directory. She spent time in Cripple Creek, Denver and New York City before retiring in Los Angeles. She died there in 1945. These six views include: 374. The Teakettle. Pike's Peak Carriage Road (fabulous view of carriage on steep road, good contrast); 357. Pike's Peak From the North (med. contrast, great view of snow-covered mountains); U.S. Signal Station and Cog Railraod (med. contrast, woman in distance); Queen of the Canon, Cascade Canon Colo. (high contrast view of waterfall); Toad and Toadstools, Garden of the Gods (med. contrast); and Balanced Rock, Garden of the Gods (low contrast). General condition on group is fair to good.
