Sirhan Sirhan handwritten notes detailing his memories from the Fish Canyon Firing Range, where he spent several hours the same day he shot RFK -- his presence at this gun range was effectively used against him at trial to signal premeditation. Manuscript, written in pencil and titled ''At the Range'' reads in full: ''I arrived at Fish Canyon firing range at about noon - parked my car near a a [sic] small house trailer, went to the registration counter, registered my name, paid $2.00, deposited 50 cents for target and frame. (The range attendant was an older person - 50-60 years - some of his teeth were missing??) There were not too many people firing at all. One old man, who was a member of NRA had 3 or for [sic] hand guns - which he used - he wore ear plugs - and collected his own shell casings he left the range about an hour after I arrived - there was another person much larger than me in size and slightly older, who left the range about the time the boy who appeared before the grand jury arrived. The boy at the grand jury said that he came to the range after school to try out his new gun. I fired his gun and I let him fire mine, we talked about hunting and hunting laws - we also discussed ammunition - he told me that I should be careful of the mini mags because they are too powerful and my gun perhaps cannot take the pressure - I gave him some mini mag cartridge and decided not to use the mini mags upon his advice. This boy left about 4 pm. I continued my target practicing alone - I ran out of my own ammo and started buying ammo from the management of the range (the same old man who took my admission fee sold me the ammo at 85c per box, I bought about 6 or 7 boxes of 50c each. About the last 45 minutes before closing time a couple came to the range - the man was in the rifle section of the range while the girl came to the handgun section.'' Manuscript, measuring 8'' x 12.5'', runs 1.5pp. (front sides only) with one staple and three folds. Near fine condition.
