19" by 28" framed. 1763 aquatint engraving/etching from the collection of Sir William Hamilton. Hamilton was the ambassador to Italy and had a collection of the worlds finest Green and Roman vases which he eventually sold to the British Museum. Before moving them to the museums collection he wanted to catalog the works in these etchings and engravings, hiring Pierre-Francois Hugues d'Hancarville. The resulting catalog, Les Antiquités d'Hancarville, represents a neoclassical masterpiece.
