Scottish novelist and poet (1771–1832) best known for such classics as Ivanhoe, Rob Roy, and Waverley. ALS, one page, 7.25 x 9, April 8, 1829. Letter in Scott’s difficult to decipher hand attempting to correct a mailing error. In part: “I have been…vexed much at a blunder of mine which must have incurred your surprise and I fear inconvenience. I answered a letter from Mr. Heath by error of post which I addressed according to Mr. Heath’s direction as I thought when behold it returns to me yesterday with…many directions.” In good condition, with partial separations along fragile intersecting folds, uniform moderate toning from previous display, and some scattered light soiling. Accompanied by a separate address panel, which may be the letter referenced by Scott.
