The lot features a set of two umbilical cord turtle fetishes from the post-1950’s showing beadwork across the front and is from the Sioux Native American Indians. Both show Indian tanned hide construction with the larger being sinew sewn and the smaller being trade thread sewn. Both show beadwork covering the entire top in glass trade seed beads of greasy green, white heart greasy Cheyenne pink, corn yellow, greasy yellow and cobalt. Each has rolled tin jingle cones with one showing yellow dyed horsehair. Provenance: From a historic Eastern Montana American Indian Collection, where the piece was found to be an authentic original, one of the finest collections of American Indian weaponry and antiquities in Montana. Larger is 9.5”L by 3.5”. Second is 5”x3.5”.
