Native American Sioux Shield by Wounded Swallow, penciled in on the back reads: ''The sheild (shield) is a reproduction of a old tipee painted by a warrior of the trie 1892 Cheyenne River. S.D. (sheild made by) Wounded Swallow Sioux, N.D.'', measures approx. 22''D, and there are 11 13.5'' turkey feathers dangling from the shield with the quills wrapped in felt and accented with blue feathers, front of shield is a painted hide in cream and has vertical red lines under a buffalo with a red sun above the buffalo, buffalo is standing on red vertical line, hide is attached to a bent yucca pole hoop.
