with thirteen rows of white and red porcupine quillwork, with geometric beaded borders in colors of cobalt and medium blue, and with marcasites on a white ground, design of small diamonds and triangles, with four strips of pale blue feathers running down bag, with additional ornaments of seven red and yellow quill-wrapped parfleche strips tied to lower edge of bag with pale green wool yarn, one with calico, each parfleche strip with two tin tinklers stuffed with red dyed horsehair, top corners of bag decorated in similar fashion, and top with a leather tie; 10.5" long x 7" wide. Deaccessioned from the Western Reserve Historical Society of Cleveland, Ohio. Very good, quillwork appears to have been repaired or cleaned on several rows.

<p>Terms of Sale. The highest bidder for each lot shall be the buyer, and if any dispute arises as to any bidding, or between two or more bidders, at the sole discretion of the auctioneer, the disputed lot shall be put up again at the last undisputed bid and resold.
<p>Buyer’s Premium. Successful bidders shall pay the hammer price of each lot, plus a 15%, added on buyer’s premium.

<p>Condition of Items in the Sale. Cowan’s Historic Americana Auctions does not warrant the condition of any lot sold. ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD AS IS, and neither Cowan’s nor the consignor makes any warranties or representations of any kind or nature with respect to the property or it’s value, and in no event shall they be responsible for correctness of description, genuineness, attribution, provenance, authenticity, authorship, completeness, condition of the property or estimate of it’s value. No statement (oral or written) in the catalog, at the auction, or elsewhere shall be deemed such a warranty or representation, or any assumption of responsibility.
<p>While condition reports for most items can be found online at Cowan’s website www.historicamericana.com, prospective bidders are urged to contact Cowan’s directly for detailed information regarding any lot. THERE SHALL BE NO RETURNS FOR ANY REASON.
<p>Estimates. Pre-sale estimates of the expected hammer price of each lot are provided for the convenience of prospective bidders. In most cases, they do not represent reserves. Bidders are encouraged to bid what they feel an item is worth.
<p>Dimensions. Unless otherwise noted, all dimensions are given in inches.
<p>HOW DO I BID?
<p>Internet bidding through icollector and ebaylive auctions is offered as a service to our customers, and prospective bidders shall not hold the auctioneer or his staff responsible for any errors or failures in executing bids, nor shall they hold the auctioneer responsible for any failure due to the loss of the auction applet supplied to Cowan’s by ebayliveauctions.
