This is a wonderful gunstock three blade war club from the Sioux Native American Indians. The piece features a Revolutionary War (1775-1783) Colonial American style gunstock wood frame with an intricate file burned and ochre dyed alternating design accenting both sides. The blades are a Revolutionary Spontoon style being Great American Bison Buffalo blades (very unique). The blade is held into place with lead or pewter and has a unique design. The handle shows rich red and black ochre coloring and wonderful file burnings. The piece is from the 19th century (1800-1890) and shows an overall well preserved museum quality condition. The piece is from a private collection in Canada. Measures overall 29.25”L x 10 7/8”W with a 6 7/8”L x 1 5/8”W blades.
