The lot features an Indian tanned hide fully top beaded tomahawk drop from the Sioux Native American Indians dating to circa 1900-1950's. The Reservation era drop would have been attached to a pipe tomahawk from the 19th Century, likely a later family addition, but now finds itself by itself. The piece shows an Indian tanned hide construction with geometric pattern glass trade seed beaded pattern in chalk white, sky padre blue, corn yellow and medium green. At the top of the piece shows the original hide tie, an old solid brass hawk trade bell, two smaller trade bells, a single wound glass green trade bead and a double strand of trade clothe ribbon. The base of the drop shows hand cut hide fringe, a truly attractive finish. Measures approximately 20 1/2" long, and 4" wide.
