Sioux Fully Beaded Moccasins c. 1900-
The lot features a set of fully top beaded moccasins from the Sioux Native American Indians and dating to the early 1900's. The set shows an Indian tanned hide construction with parfleche rawhide soles that are sinew sewn and have a nice patina from age and use. The tops and sides show an excellent geometric typical beadwork design in all early glass trade seed beads. The beadwork shows colors such as chalk white, corn yellow, red, light blue, green and cobalt. The one moccasins shows the original ankle with a scalloped design, tongue and original tie straps with the other having some damage at the ankle, missing tie strap and tongue. The set shows some slight bead loss, but overall displays very well. The moccasins each measure 10.5"L soles by 3.75"W.
