Fully beaded vest with teepee designs. Colors include three shades of blue, pea green, black, translucent red, white-heart red over a white background. Fringed edges. Cloth lined. Initialed P.J.M. in the design on the back.
Provenance: Collected by John H. Hawes 1890s-1930s. Sold by descendants to current owner.

Jack Hawes (1877-1950)
John H. Hawes was a travelling salesman out of Alliance, Nebraska. Employed first by Freemont Saddlery, which became Harpham Brothers Saddlery and Harness, Jack’s sales territory was comprised of historic cowboy and Indian areas, where he collected artifacts primarily between the 1890s and 1930s.
