This is a Sioux Native American Indian beaded Indian hide vest. The vest shows wonderful geometric 19th century glass trade seed beads, Indian tanned hide and fringe, with an early calico clothe lining. The vest shows beadwork on the front and back. This was purchased from the King Saddlery Museum in Sheridan, Wyoming where the Ernst Family had the collection displayed.. The pieces were original collected and sold by Otto F. Ernst in the 19th century. Otto Ernst was a renowned Saddle Maker and would purchase Native American items to sell in his Saddle shop and Catalog. Otto Ernst Saddlery Sheridan, Wyoming. The vest is from circa 1900-1920 and shows very good condition. Measures 20"x20".
