The lot features a wonderful Sioux Native American Indian double sided beaded knife sheath with excellent 19th century trade knife. The trade knife is from the early to mid 19th century shows a hardwood walnut solid grip with round pommel and inlaid pewter silver hilt having a pointed pattern. The knife shows a large bowie like blade with no visible maker mark, but is early. The sheath shows a parfleche rawhide construction with Indian tanned hide having a mineral ocher wash with sinew sewing. Both sides shows early trade glass seed beads in chalk white, greasy yellows, red , dark green, black trde thread sewn. The end of the sheath shows a Buffalo Hair drop with sinew wrapping. Knife is 14.5"L with a 9.5" blade. Sheath is 24"L with braided top strap and drop x 3 7/8"W.
