This is an exceptional pair of beaded moccasins from the Sioux Native American Indians. The pair is from the third to fourth quarter of the 19th century. The piece shows excellent glass seed beadwork sinew sewn to Indian tanned hide with Buffalo parfleche soles. The top edge of the moccasins shows an early faded red trade clothe accent. The moccasins are in wonderful condition for their age and truly are in museum quality. The beadwork shows a medium green, chalk white, and Hudson Bay red white hearts (or rose white hearts). Very fine set of early moccasins. Each is 8.5"L soles and 3 1/8"H.
