This is a beaded dag knife sheath from the Sioux Native American Indians. Provenance: This is from a very large private collection of Native American artifacts from Paris, France. The collector believes this piece to be from the 19th century. The piece shows an Indian tanned hide with excellent glass trade seed beadwork in sky blue, chalk white, transparent, red, translucent rose, iridescent. The bottom shows a wonderful long cut hide fringe with tin jingle cones having trade red feathers. The piece shows very well preserved condition with only minor bead loss on the fringe. Measures 19"x3.75". Very rare to have the dag knife or beaver back dagger sheath.
