Featured in this lot is this 1930-1940’s Sioux beaded bracelet with original Sioux Rosebud Indian Products Arts & Crafts Shop and is from the Duhamel Trading Post in Rapid City, South Dakota. The Sioux Indian Arts and Crafts Shop and later the Museum was established in the 1930’s. The Duhamel Trading Post was established in Rapid City, South Dakota in 1907 by Pete Duhamel, born in 1839 in Canada and moved to Rapid City, Dakota Territory in 1879. The piece has the original tag which is marked, “Sioux Indian Products Hand Made Native Crafts – Pottery – Weaving / Reservation Rosebud Object Bracelet Price $1.00 Sioux Indian Arts & Crafts Shop Rapid City, South Dakota”. The piece shows an Indian tanned hide bracelet trade thread sewn with glass trade seed beadwork in a classic Sioux geometric pattern, showing colors of red, white and light blue. The bracelet shows fair condition as the beading is loose and is slightly coming apart. It measures 3" in length, while the tag measures 3 1/4" L x 1 1/2" W.
