Single-shot breech-loading needle-fire pistol with “AF” and crown and Belgian proofs, probably Auguste Francotte. The pistol measures 7” overall with 2-1/2” octagon barrel, of approx. .28 caliber or 7mm. The barrel shows an etched Damascus pattern barrel, scroll engraved frame, and blackened hardwood, probably ebony grips. The pistol loads by hand-unscrewing the barrel, placing a cartridge into the barrel, and the needle protrudes from the action. My fear would be to drop the pistol or screw the barrel on too tight it would fire. The pistol is numbered “727” on frame, the condition is very good plus to near fine with original satin or coin finish and most of the pattern showing strong on the barrel. Grips are also near fine with just slight handling and edge wear. This would qualify as an oddity. From the Robert Petersen Collection. Est: $750 - $1,500
