Singer Vintage German Sewing Machine, Case -1908
This is a vintage Singer electric powered sewing machine, in the original wooden case with lid. The serial number, C2603368, indicates that it was made sometime after 1908 in Wittenberge, (Prussia) Germany. It is in good condition overall, and seems to working fine, with a new belt. The body of the machine has overall light wear, but the surface is generally good, and free of bad scratches. The gold tone ornamentation and lettering is about 75% good, with normal wear that mostly on the flat surface. The embossed logo emblem on front is very good. The motor serial number is 5913512. The bottom wooden portion of the base has cracks, but the base itself is still plenty sturdy. The wooden lid has some light wear, light scratches, and a tape mark that could probably be cleaned up. The Singer name in gold lettering is crisp and clean. The lock for the lid is working fine, and the key is included.
The original instruction booklets are included, all in German.
We have not seen this German made model before. We believe it is more rare compared to the American made models. This Singer will make a lovely vintage display for an old sewing room, and if you get inspired you can sew with it too. This item can also be picked up at our Chicago area offices. Please phone or email ahead to arrange.
