Simply impeccable styling fine Persian Samane Bakhtiari Rug. 100%natural, hand woven, vegetable dye, finest baby lamb’s wool pile on cotton foundation. Bakhtiari rugs are named after the Bakhtiari tribes, which are one of the oldest, most noble and prominent Persian tribes, living in the mountainous western and south western part of Iran depending on the season. Different sub-tribes of Bakhtiari produce rugs with their own distinctive design and personality. Samane-Bakhtiari weave is among the finest and has very well packed knots. Sometimes referred to as "bibi-baft" basically meaning "hand woven by women of the household". What is intriguing is the fact that such beautiful works of art are produced by tribal women with very little education, if any at all. Please notice the crisp and well defined pattern, and the glowing baby lamb's wool pile. The combination of highest quality baby lamb's wool plus a very well packed weave has afforded this bakhtiari, an exceptional appearance. This is an endearing example of samane bakhtiari rugs.
