Simply delightful high quality royal Persian Tehran Rug. 100% natural, vegetable dye, hand woven, softest baby lamb's wool pile on cotton foundation. This is a royal Tehran weave. Tehran being the capital and the commercial center of Iran has never been a center for rug production. However, the few that are woven are of extreme high quality and artistic workmanship, making them among the most desirable and sought after Persian Rugs. Moreover this royal Tehran has a glowing and lively appearance due to its high quality of baby lamb’s wool pile. a true museum quality piece. Please notice the captivating shade of blue color used in the crowned corners and subsequently repeated in the secondary borders, that is characteristic of Tehran weave. Creases are due to fold and not a defect. The leather band sewn on the edge at the back of this rug is to keep the edges from curling under due to the extreme tightness of the weave.
