Simply Captivating Rare Fine Vintage Persian Mission Malayer Rug. 100% Natural, vegetable dye, hand spun, hand woven, baby lambs wool pile on cotton foundation. Mission is a hamlet in the proximity of the town of Malayer. Malayer is a town located in the western region of Iran. These Rugs display uniqueness in the broad range of designs and choices of colors. They are true artistic creations, and their value reflects their artistry. Mission Malayer Rug production has always been few and far in between and therefor very much desirable and sought after. This is a rare mid- 20th century Persian Mission Malayer in mint condition. Please notice the sophisticated and intricate all-over geometric pattern with its beautiful salmon color background. This delightful piece becomes even more intriguing when one is reminded of the fact that, these Rugs are woven by women of the household with very little education, if any at all. This represents mans intrinsic genius, striving for beauty and perfection, and in this case, in the form of a hand woven Rug, an art underfoot. Size: 7 feet X 4 feet 10 inches. Country of Origin: Iran.
