Military promotion issued by Bolivar as president of Colombia, in part (translated): "In view of the merit and service rendered by Juan Gomes of Cos, 2nd Lieutenant in the Quito Battalion, I have decided to advance him to the grade of 1st Lieutenant, effective today." Prominently signed at the conclusion by Bolivar and endorsed by several other officials. In very good to fine condition, with scattered light foxing and toning, and small areas of paper loss along the hinge and the intersecting folds.
