Silver and Gold Inlaid J.A. Kuchenreuter Double Barrel Percussion Pistol
Johann Adam Kuchenreuter (1794-1869) served as chief gunsmith for the Princely House of Thurn & Taxis, later to the King's Court of Bavaria. Raised silver blade front and notch rear sights, with a tight Damascus twist pattern on the barrels, fine silver scroll inlay on each side, silver breech border and horseman proof, engraved tang and "J. Adam Kuchenreuter in Regensburg" in fancy gold script along the rib. Engraved hammers and locks, with inlaid silver arrays of arms behind both hammers. Engraved stock furniture, with an iron ramrod, silver cannon and flag designs on the finger spur trigger guard, silver inscription oval on the wrist and a fluted grip with carved scrollwork and a contoured buttcap. Overall length is 10 1/2 inches.

Condition: Good. Strong damascus pattern on the barrels, with pitting at the breech and muzzle, a welded repair on the left barrel and mild dings.
