Silver tetradrachm of Ptolemaic Egypt, circa 105/4BC (Regnal year 12 of Cleopatra III, regnal year 9 of Ptolemy X). The obverse depicts Ptolemy I, friend and general of Alexander III (the Great) and eventual successor to Egypt and other parts of Alexander's empire. Ptolemy founded a Macedonian dynasty that ruled in Egypt for 300 years. The reverse features Zeus's eagle. A dramatic coin, in modern 14K pendant mounting that can be worn with either side forward, suitable for a man or woman. It measures approximately 25MM in diameter and weighs 14.4 grams.
