This unique silver inlaid flintlock pistol with shoulder stock was manufactured by Senior Johann Andreas Kuchenreiter of Regensberg (1716-1795). The sides of the barrel have three sets of silver inlaid wedges of scrollwork with the top of the barrel having "IOH. ANDRE KUCHENREITER" inlaid in silver. Silver inlaid scrollwork is also featured on top of the barrel surrounding the maker marking and front blade sight. A deeply struck proof is at the breech. It is equipped with a three leaf rear sight (one fixed, two folding) and a set trigger. The lock plate is marked "I.A./KUCHENREITER." The side plate, trigger guard, ramrod pipes and buttcap are silver. The full length incised stock has a horn forend cap and a flared butt. The ramrod has a horn tip. The detachable shoulder stock has a wooden patch box on the right side and a contrasting wooden buttplate.

Good. The barrel and action components have an overall bright appearance showing some very scattered fine pin point pitting. The silver is fine. The stock is also good with some minor handling marks. The refinished/repaired shoulder stock shows a few minor handling marks. The buttplate is a modern made replacement.
