Birth is a Dancing Star Silkscreen by Sister Carita Kent, measures 11 7/8'' square, framed in a glass and metal frame, this colorful silkscreen print combines Corita Kent's colorful art work with a quote from Nietzsche: ''You must carry a chaos inside you to give birth to a dancing star.'' The print is framed inside two pieces of glass creating a light, airy look, and then framed with a black frame with gold highlights. The print is marked Ed 200 and signed by the artist in pencil. Artist Bio: Corita Kent also known as Sister Corita, has led an interesting life, transitioning from a life centered around vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience to an independent life as an artist in Boston producing a large range of internationally acclaimed prints. She is perhaps best known for creating the first U.S. Post Office Love Stamp. The Corita Art Center in Los Angeles is dedicated to her works and has a large number of her prints which tend to range from $700 to $2,800.

*** The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the purchaser, regardless of the time the bids were placed. In the event of a tie between bidders, the auctioneer shall have the sole and final discretion either to determine the successful bidder or to re-offer and resell the article in dispute. If any dispute arises after sale, the Company's sale record shall be conclusive in all respects.
