Virginia Stroud Signed/Numbered(494/1000)print, Native American Cherokee-Creek. Framed, & matted, picture visual measurement is approx. 24''H x 17.75''W. Artist was born on 13 March 1951 in Madera, California. Her mother died when she was eleven, so Stroud moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma to live with her sister. She sold her first painting at the age of 13. Stroud graduated from Muskogee High School in 1968. From 1968 to 1970, she attended Bacone College and studied art under Cheyenne painter Dick West, who made her his studio assistant. She then attended the University of Oklahoma. The print is two Indians in an idyllic setting with trees, blooming trees, indicating Spring with pebbles at the edge of a lake or stream. It is signed by the artist and numbered 494/1000. The double matt is cut, revealing the matt below, giving you the sense of flowing water. Beautiful piece by this contemporary Indian artist.
