<B>Signed Pages from Clifton Webb's Guest Book, Including Mercedes de Acosta.</B></I> This lot includes two pages, the first dating to Christmas Eve, 1932 at Clifton's home, where the guests who signed include Noel Coward and opera star Grace Moore (who has written "Merry Christmas Darling" above her signature). The other page is dated June 2, 1935, and bears the signatures of the legendary designer Adrian and the exotic writer Mercedes de Acosta, best-remembered in film history as the intimate acquaintance of Greta Garbo. Someone had drawn on the page a cartoon of a tortoise with a flowery tail and noted "Portrait of Miss de Acosta." Miss De Acosta draws an arrow to the tortoise and writes "I'm flattered!" above her flamboyant signature. Remarkable show business history has touched these pages.
