Offered for bidding in this lot is a Jamez Pueblo Native American Indian wedding vase. The small vase shows a polychrome paint scheme, utilizing a primary color of earthen tan, rich red, and deep brown. The vase is signed on the bottom with the name; "Elton Nampeyo". The wedding vase is a highly sentimental object - such as the wedding band. The wedding vase is provided by the grooms father, on the day of the wedding, the vase is filled with holy water, and given to the bride - She drinks from one side of the vase, while the groom drinks from the other. The vase is in good condition. The piece measures 5 7/8" tall, and 3 3/8" wide.
