<B>Signed Gemini 11 Recovery Booklet For the Crew of the USS <I>Guam,</B></I></B></I> 8 x 10.5, 37 one-sided pages. Produced onboard the <I>Guam</B></I> to mark the recovery of the Gemini 11 space capsule and its crew on September 15, 1966. The men aboard the capsule were Charles "Pete" Conrad, Jr. and Richard Francis Gordon, Jr. Conrad (1930 -1999), was an American astronaut and the third man to walk on the moon. He served on Gemini 5 and 11, Apollo 12, and Skylab 2 missions. Gordon (born 1929) made his first space flight as pilot of Gemini 11, alongside Pete Conrad - Gordon was already good friends with Conrad, who had previously been his roommate on the carrier <I>Ranger.</B></I> Both astronauts signed the booklet. Sold with an unrelated (10 x 8) photograph of an X-15 Research Mission.
