<B>Signed Commemorative Cover Featuring Orville Wright</B></I> "<I>Orville Wright</B></I>". Air Mail Envelope, 9.5" x 4.25", postmarked Greenfield, Michigan, April 16, 1938, 5 p.m. (may have been signed at a later time). This colorful, cancelled envelope is signed by Wright down the left edge, and by several other men, such as R.B. Huston and John Gagley. The Henry Ford cannot be guaranteed as authentic; the other three, however, are good. This original Air Mail envelope marks the 71st Anniversary of the First Plane Built in a Bicycle Shop, as well as the 20th Anniversary of National Air Mail Week. Postmasters in both Detroit and Dearborn, Michigan have also signed along with Wright. The envelope is in fine condition, being slightly yellowed by age, with some rubbing of the colored border. Canceled on the verso as well.
