Signed Collector's Set of Russell Bio & Biblio
Signed Collector's Edition Boxed Set of Ramon F. Adams and Homer E. Britzman: Charles M. Russell, The Cowboy Artist: A Biography & Karl Yost (with a note by Homer E. Britzman and Frederic G. Brenner): Charles M. Russell, The Cowboy Artist: A Bibliography. (Pasadena, California: Trail's End Publishing Co., Inc., 1948), first limited edition, 1 of 600 sets, 335 pages & 218 pages respectively, black quarter morocco binding with black cloth boards and gilt spine titles, 8vo (6.25" x 9.25"), no dust jacket (as issued), stored in a handsome quarter leather slipcase with gilt spine titles and five raised bands. Profusely illustrated with photographs and Russell sketches & paintings throughout. This limited edition boxed set of Russell scholarship is rare, especially as signed by Jack Russell, Charles Russell's son. The younger Russell has inscribed and signed "I enjoyed riding with my father at Lake McDonald in Glacier Park. Jack Russell" on the verso of the front flyleaf of the biography; he signed simply "Jack Russell" on the title page of the bibliography. The books are accompanied by five amateur photographs taken in Jack Russell's home, one of which shows him signing this very set. The books are in very good condition, with moderate but typical shelf wear, including some minimal rubbing to the boards. There are a couple of small, white, fingernail-sized stains on the front board of the biography, not affecting the overall appeal of the set. On both volumes, the interior textblock is tight and clean. A rare set of books representing a wealth of information on Charles Russell's life and work, fit for any serious Russell collector.

Shipping: Books & Catalogs (view shipping information)
