Signed CDV image of Wilbur F. Hudler, 56th New York Infantry, Company K. Image is signed on the front in navy ink “Wilbur F. Hudler / 56th N.Y. Vols.” Verso is signed by soldier “Wilbur F. Hudler / Co. K 56th NY Vols.” The 576th New York Infantry, also known as the 1st German Cavalry or Dickels Mounted Rifles, was engaged in battle at Yorktown, Williamsburg, Savage Station, Fair Oaks, Fort Wagner and Honeyhill. Image shows horizontal and diagonal creasing. Though faint, face of soldier shows pencil markings. Overall good condition.
