For your consideration is this Original Signed C. A. Seward Painting, "Landscape With Tree", Oil on Canvas on Board. C.A. Seward (1884-1939) was an American Impressionist & Modern artist, is known as an artist, art educator and author of books on printmaking. Spending most of his years in Wichita, Seward was devoted to promoting the arts in Kansas. The primary focus of his art were that of landscapes and towns. Seward was a founding member of both the Wichita Art Association, Wichita Art Museum, and the Wichita Artists’ Guild and then by 1932 as the Director and later, President of the Kansas Federation of the Arts. Seward was a member of Wichita Art Association; Wichita Artists Guild; California Printmakers; Prairie Print Makers (Charter Member); Kansas State Federation of Art. This oil on canvas on board has provenance attached to inside of shadowbox reverse, Zaplin Lampert Gallery 651 Canyon Road Santa Fe, New Mexico. Established by Richard Lampert and Mark Zaplin (1952-2014), the gallery quickly gained recognition as a premiere source for the works of the early artists of the Taos Society of Artists and the Santa Fe Art Colony, and for American paintings of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The oil painting is professionally mounted in a gold coloured wood frame, no obvious marring observed. Visible art is 2.5"W x 3.5"L, frame is 5.75"W x 6.75"L x .5"D
