English poet, author and soldier (1886-1967). Decorated for bravery on the Western Front, he became one of the leading poets of the First World War. ALS, one page, 5.25 x 7, Heytesbury House, Wiltshire letterhead, February 27, 1938. Letter to Mr. Roberts, in full: "With regard to your anthology, might I suggest that instead of 'Falling Asleep' you include either 'To One who was with me in the War,' or 'On Passing the New Menin Gate'—(Nos 22 & 23 in 'The Heart's Journey'). I cannot help feeling that these poems is [sic] stronger & more significant than the one you have chosen. With apologies for my interference!" In fine condition, with triangular toning to the lower right.
