Wreathed head left of Persephone-Tanit surrounded by four dolphins; below chin, scallop shell/Horse standing right with palm tree behind. 16.80 g. Jenkins (SNR 56) 134 (same dies). AU55 ICG. Of particularly fine style, the obverse of this coin is copied from the Syracusan dekadrachms of c. 400-370 B.C. by the master Euainetos, who used the scallop shell as a symbol.From the Collection of Dr. Joseph M.
