Depth 3 3/8 in.

A rectangular, three-level structure is shown, with visually balanced ramps leading to the different levels. Summarily-executed figures are seated at the proper right of level one and at the top proper left spout base. Since much of the architecture of north coastal valley sites was adobe-built and thus survives only in badly eroded condition, such representations help to give a sense of the architectural setting of Late Intermediate Period life. Both figures are missing most of the right arm and leg, and are generally abraded. There are minor chips at the spout.

Provenance
Bonhams & Butterfields, San Francisco: sale 7437E, 9 June 2003, lot 5077, pp. 18-19
