Although Bergemann consciously chooses casual, everyday locations, her motives are of strong meaning.

Sibylle Bergemann (1941-2010)

Sibylle Bergemann is originally from Berlin and began an apprenticeship as photographer in 1966 at the studio of her future husband Arno Fischer. In 1974, Bergemann had her first solo-exhibition at the House of Young Talents in Berlin. Three years later, she joined the Association of Fine Artists of the GDR as well as in 1994 the Art Academy of Berlin.Next to her artistic oeuvre, Sibylle Bergemann also published images in several fashion magazines. In 2009, she presented her works at the internationally much-noticed exhibition Ostzeit. Geschichten aus einem vergangenen Land (Eastern times.
