<B>Shreveport, LA</B></I> - $100 1929 Ty. 1 <B>Commercial NB</B></I> Ch. # 13648 Uncut Sheet<BR>This is the mate to the serial number 1 $50 sheet offered above, and with an illustrious pedigree, too. Both sheets start out in the Col. Green Collection. They next resurface in the fabled Lester Merkin auction of February 1971. This event alone made small size Nationals into a serious collectible. After a 20 plus year hiatus, we see this duo in the Halpern Collection sale. The next stop is January 2001 when we sold the pair. Now, we have a second opportunity to offer these fantastic items to the collecting community. This all number 1 sheet is virtually identical to the $50 sheet above, with a broad light diagonal fold affecting the two top notes, while the other four notes are perfect gems. The sheet is strictly original and without any folds between the notes. The pencilled initials above the bottom note mentioned in the Merkin catalogue are still there today. Also, this was the highest chartered number bank in the nation to issue Type 1 $100s.
