Ca. 1960s, Outstanding sinew sewn flat and lazy stitch beaded white buckskin outfit in very good condition. This special piece was purchased by Popovi Da for his daughter, Janice, at Fort Washakie, WY on their return trip home from Montana in 1968. This daughter, who says she inherited "none of the family's artistic talents" was not a potter or artist, but worked at the Popovi Da Studio of Indian Arts at San Ildefonso as a girl. The outfit consists of the dress with beaded yoke, plus matching belt bag, belt, moccasins, leggings, and breastplate all with beautiful floral designs. The outfit was purchased used, the moccasins show some wear on the bottom, but otherwise still looks practically new. The daughter never wore the outfit and has kept in a riveted aluminum box (included) that her father made for it. Women's Small/Medium BDW WAQ
