Abstract Log of the Ship "Samuel Russell", 957 tons, of New York, Theodore D. Palmer, Master, on a voyage from New York to Canton. Kept daily in the hand of Philip Dumaresq (First Officer) from Feb. 25th through June 14th, 1849. 10 pp text and 22 in blank, completed in manuscript form containing much personal information of Mr. Dumaresq. The SR was well noted as One of the Fastest Clippers of her day and this was the last voyage of Dumaresq as Mate, he became Captain on his next voyage and remained so untill his untimely death by drowning.
