Ships Log of the Maiden Voyage from Boston to San Francisco on Board the Clipper Ship 'Bald Eagle', Captain Philip Dumaresq 1852-1853. 2 Original Logs. (1) 'Bald Eagle', 4to bound in 1/2 brown calf and marbled bds. 52 pages on blue paper, very legible. Also starting in this log are the voyages of the "Romance of the Sea" to both New York and on to London, 1853/1854. another 57 pages.These voyages on the Romance continue in the second volume with recorded trips to; San Francisco, Hong Kong, and finally on back to New York. 4to, 1/2 brown calf with dark slate bds., Very Good. Both are Snuggly housed in a custom-made deep burnt orange cloth folding box Insert & Slipcase with a full-leather banded spine and gilt titles, About FINE. Very Attractive and Uniquely Scarce, Both being One-of-A-Kind. Both ships are detailed in several Sailing & Clipper Ship Books including accounts of both in "American Clipper Ships" Howe & Mathews. An Excellent Set of early Logs.
