Vintage 10 x 8 photo of Holmes and Watson from one of the 1943 Sherlock Holmes films, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Jimmy with best wishes from Nigel Bruce 1943,” and “From Basil Rathbone.” The photo has been professionally and expertly restored to very good condition, re-backed to a heavier archival sheet, with moderate creases, bends, and surface marks and tears very neatly repaired to return the photo to a highly displayable state. Photos of Rathbone as Holmes or Bruce as Watson are seldom encountered; both in character on the same photo, essentially nonexistent. It may be years before you see another!
